π Thoughts & Reflections
- Nagoya Castle was stunning across two visits β I caught the sakura lightup at night on the first day, then came back the next day to explore it properly in full daylight. Both were magical in completely different ways.
- Tsuruma Park was packed β it was a proper spring sakura festival with full lightup. Lively, festive, and a very different energy from the castle.
- Nishitetsu Hotel Croom Nagoya served as a very comfortable base for Sakae food and local dining.
πΈ Journal & Photos
On the first evening, I headed to Nagoya Castle for the sakura lightup πΈβ¨ β the illuminated blossoms against the castle walls and towers were breathtaking.

Also on day 1, I walked over to Tsuruma Park for the spring sakura festival πΈπ β it was very crowded, full of festive energy, with rows of sakura trees lit up beautifully against the night sky. A very different vibe from the castle, but equally memorable.

The next day I came back to explore Nagoya Castle properly in daylight β the full-bloom sakura under clear skies was just as magical πΈπ― Inside the Honmaru Palace was equally breathtaking.

I stayed at the Nishitetsu Hotel Croom Nagoya near Sakae, which was excellent β the room was comfortable, the Nagoya location was perfect for dining, and the hot spring bath (onsen) was a great way to wind down.
